Getting started

Welcome to X Captain

How X Captain tracks your simulator flights, scores your landings and turns your hours into progression.

X Captain follows you across flight simulators. Each flight you fly is logged and scored. Over time, those flights earn you XP, type ratings, licenses and achievements, and they open up organizations (flight clubs and operators) where you can fly with other pilots.

How it fits together

  1. Install the X Captain plugin in X-Plane. It runs inside the simulator, reads your flight data and sends it to your account. See Install the plugin.
  2. Fly. Fly freely, or plan a flight first and X Captain will check you followed the route.
  3. Get scored. Every landing gets a score out of 10.
  4. Progress. Flights earn XP, build type ratings, count towards licenses and unlock achievements.
  5. Join the community. Once you've built some experience, create or join an organization: a flight club, or an operator that flies scheduled duties.

Start with Install the plugin, then fly a short circuit. It's the quickest way to see your first score.
