Organizations
Flight clubs and operators, and everything they have in common.
An organization is a group of pilots on X Captain, created and run by the community. There are two kinds:
- Flight clubs are casual groups that fly missions together.
- Operators are run like an airline or cargo company. They have a callsign, a fleet and a timetable of duties.
Under the hood, both are the same thing. They share the same membership, roles and profile, and they differ only in the extra tools each one gets.
What every organization has
- A profile. Name, description, a hub airport, and an optional thumbnail and banner image.
- Members. Pilots apply to join and an admin accepts or rejects them.
- Roles. The pilot who creates the organization becomes its admin. Admins review applications, edit the settings and create the flying for members.
- Flying for members. Admins publish work that members claim and fly: missions in a club, duties in an operator. Both pay a money reward when you complete them.
- The same requirements to create one. See Creating an organization.
How they differ
| Flight club | Operator | |
|---|---|---|
| Feels like | A group of friends flying together | A virtual airline or cargo company |
| Flying for members | Missions | Duties: charters and scheduled routes |
| Identity | Name and hub airport | Also a callsign, ICAO and IATA codes |
| Fleet | Any aircraft | Admins can limit duties to the aircraft types they operate |
| AI help | AI mission suggestions | The AI assistant drafts duties |
| Where to find them | Flight clubs | Organizations |
Joining an organization
- Browse flight clubs or organizations and open one to see its details and members.
- Click Apply. Your application goes to the organization's admins.
- Once an admin accepts it, you're a member.
You can belong to several organizations at once, of both kinds. My Clubs and My Organizations list the ones you're in. If you're in more than one, use the sidebar to switch between them.
