Operators
Airline-style organizations with a callsign, a fleet and scheduled duties.
An operator is the airline-style kind of organization, like a virtual airline or a cargo company. It works like a flight club, with members, admins and a hub airport. On top of that it has an airline identity, a fleet and a timetable of duties.
Find operators under Organizations. The ones you belong to are in My Organizations.
Identity
Besides a name, description and hub, an operator can set:
- a callsign, the name used on the radio
- an ICAO code and an IATA code
Fleet
In Settings, admins pick the aircraft types the operator flies. Duties then only accept those types. If no fleet is set, duties accept any aircraft.
Duties
A duty is a block of flying the operator publishes for its pilots. Admins choose how it's shaped and how often it runs:
| One-off | Recurring | |
|---|---|---|
| Single leg | Charter: one flight on one date | Scheduled route: same sector on chosen weekdays |
| Turnaround | Day trip: out and back on one date | Turnover route: out and back every service day |
| Multi-stop | Positioning run: several stops on one date | Milk run: the same circuit on service days |
They also choose who can fly it:
- Open: any qualified pilot can fly it.
- Pooled: a fixed number of slots for each dated duty.
- Exclusive: the first pilot to claim it takes it.
Each leg pays a money reward based on the route. New duties start as drafts. Admins can edit a draft and publish it when it's ready. Once published, members can claim it.
